Using the Richard Dawkins Store to Fundraise for Your Group

The Richard Dawkins Foundation Store offers students a great avenue for fundraising that requires no up-front cash and can really raise money for your group!

Here's how it works.  SSA affiliate groups can get merchandise from the RDF Store at discounted rates without having to pay for it up front.   Then you can sell these items for whatever prices you deem are appropriate.  Afterwards, you reimburse the Store for what you sold and send back any unused items. Your group keeps all the profits! (Your group is liable to pay for return shipping, please keep this in mind while planning for the event.)

You'll want to give yourself plenty of time to plan for this.  4-6 weeks beforehand, contact the  Richard Dawkins Foundation Store by emailing [email protected].  You'll get all the information you need, including your discount code and tips on which items might be best for your project.  Our campus organizers can help with that, too - just email [email protected].

PLEASE check with your university or school for campus policies regarding the selling of merchandise. For example, some schools only allow certain businesses to sell books on campus. It is better to seek guidance beforehand than to seek forgiveness after being called out by your administration for breaking campus policy.

This can be a fun and exciting way to make some money at events, meetings, or even just by setting up a table  in the student union or other public area.
