GroupSpaces as a web presence option for your group

GroupSpaces is a new option for your group's online web presence. It is a great website with many great resources for your group to have all in one location. It has much more functionality then the redesigned Facebook groups or Twitter. It combines the customizability of a website with an easy-to-use interface that is quick and easy to get used to. It also provides your group with an email address and an email announcement list. It really does combine several different online resources down into one resource for ease of accessibility.

GroupSpaces successfully replicates much of how Facebook groups used to be set up but expands upon the idea. The group admins can create events for your group and share them on Facebook as Facebook events. Members of the group do not need to be GroupSpaces users; only the admins (probably your group officers) need to be members of the site. You have plenty of room for whatever information you need on the page such as officer info, contact info, news and announcements, an about section, goals and purposes, or anything else you would want on your group's page. It is easy for admins to contact all the members of the group through an email announcement list and you can create your own email templates if you would like to.

Included with the page is a forum (if you choose to use it) as well as a Google Docs-type file uploading function. There is also a wiki for your group to use. Photos can also be uploaded to view just like on Facebook. GroupSpaces really does fulfill all the needs for a group's web presence.
The appearance of the webpage is fully customizable in an easy-to-understand fashion, similar to a blog or website. You can move anything anywhere you want to on the page. Your events can be displayed in a calendar format as well as listed under announcements. There is an email archive for any past communications with your group and you can also create specific lists for individuals within your group if you don't need to contact everybody in it.
