Introduction

Summer's here! School's out, finals are done, and grades (whether good or bad) are in. We all know how crazy the last few weeks of school can be, and how the first few weeks of summer are great for just kicking back and doing, well, nothing. So we've kept this issue on the shorter side so you can spend less time in front of the computer and get outside in the sun!

For those of you who just can't stand having nothing to do, I hear your pain. So, when next issue comes out, it'll be full of summer activities for the secular-student-on-summer-break. In the meantime, a little fun in the sun won't hurt you.

Caveat Lector (Reader Beware)

amanda
When headlines hit the news last month about a new study showing that “religion is good for kids,” I got a little cranky. Fortunately, several people rebutted the study. Thanks to their excellent work, my own critique of the study would be redundant. Instead, I want to offer some tips and tricks for the skeptical reader of research findings. You don’t have to be an expert in the field of study to use these tactics to help you assess the quality of research.
