Humanist Fraternities?

I have been tossing around the idea of Humanist fraternities for quite some time now. I go to a school where fraternity life is quite prominent, so the idea came naturally. What does everyone else think about that? For that matter, sororities too? The Greek ideals of fraternity, and reason particularly, just scream Humanism I think!

We have also been looking into "Freethought Frat" ideas. It is something we would like to do more research on and try to come up with ideas. Input is encouraged!

As Becky said, the Secular Student Alliance has been kicking around the idea of having some kind of atheist/humanist/skeptic/freethinker "frat" idea. If we were to do it, I think certain things would have to be changed a bit to do it in "freethought way." I think the organization being co-ed would be the most obvious change we'd want to make from how it is traditionally done. I know there are several "greek" style organizations that at least have co-ed locals. So there would be something of a model to follow.

We've actually been talking with one. Things are too early in our discussions for me to say which one, but it seems that we might be able to get at least get some help from people who've done this before.
