Dave Rand is a graduate student at Harvard University, when he's not studying Systems Biology, he's making electro-punk (or acoustic) music. His songs have a strong Humanist bent, and combine science with art, humanist values with synthesized sounds. Dave puts on an energetic one-man show, and invites his audience to appreciate the place music holds in our humanist philosophy.
Rand studies the evolution of generosity and cooperation, as well as the connection between punishment and cooperation. He recently had a paper in Nature titled "Winners Don't Punish", for which he was featured on NPR's All Things Considered. Rand would be happy to speak on any topic related to his work or area of study in place of or in addition to any musical performance.
Robot Goes Here's debut full-length album, The Byte Is In Your Blood, was written and recorded in the period that Rand was graduating from Cornell University.
