Is Athiesm REALLY a belief in the non-existance of God, or just hateful denial?

I just want to ask you guys some very honest questions: Why is it that Atheists are so bent on trying to "convert" everyone into their belief system?

If Atheism were so scientific and logical, then why is it that very few people accept Atheism as being true even though the theory of Evolution is taught in schools? If Athiesm were as logical, scientific, and rational as Atheists claim, then wouldn't it be OBVIOUS there was no god?

Appx. 95% of the US population is theist.

Out of 95% of Americans, you mean to tell me that NONE of that 95% has EVER questioned the existence of a higher power? That's ludicrous. Athiests very often claim that once a believer truly questions the existence of a divine being then they will come to realize that there isn't one....but this is simply not true.

Why is it that even though everybody is taking the same science courses, less than 10% of Americans are Atheists? Why?

99% of American's believe in the law of Gravity because that's logical. It would be very difficult to deny logic...if it were indeed logical and rational. It is NOT difficult to deny Atheism....it can't be that hard when 95% of the population does so.

A lot of Athiests converted to Atheism because they didn't WANT to believe in God. They didn't like God's rules and so they did everything they could to deny his existence. They wanted badly to shut God out of their lives. Deep down, a lot of Athesits KNOW God exists, it's just that they will NEVER admit it....not to you....and especially not to themselves. The last thing they want to do is be accountable or have to answer to anyone. What better way to remove the guilt than to convince yourself He doesn't even exist?

The line of reasoning is appalling here. Because something is logical or rational or (as naturalistic atheism is) the most parsimonious way of interpreting the evidence doesn't mean that is will necessarily make sense to everyone. Intuitively obvious and the most rationally supported are two different matters entirely.

While most people believe in gravity, they only have a vague, maybe Newtonian understanding of gravity. Most people have no idea of the basics of General Relativity. Likewise, most people believe in Aristotlean Physics, even though it's wrong (for instance, they believe an object will cease moving when force ceases to be applied to it).

Counterintuitive or unobvious claims can be and sometimes are quite rational. Just look at the entirety of quantum physics. Furthermore, there’s a whole line of research into the psychology and popularity of religion. I suggest you read chapter 6 of “Science and Nonbelief” by Taner Edis for some more insight into why religion is dominant and how it exploits are inaccurate commonsense perceptions.
