Spring 2009 Affiliation Renewal

Submitted by august on Thu, 2008-10-09 14:49.

Twice a year the Secular Student Alliance asks all its affiliates to update their contact information with the Alliance and tell us a bit about their operations. Other than agreeing to the Minimum Statement, this is the only requirement for affiliating with the Alliance. Alliance affiliates all have access to project and travel grants, support from Alliance staff, the Alliance speakers bureau and many other services. Most importantly of all though, the affiliation survey allows the Alliance to know how to do the best possible job at servinig its affiliates.

The survey should take between 5 and 15 minutes to complete.

We strongly recommend that you read over the whole survey and gather the information you need before you begin.  Unfortunately, it is not possible to save the survey midway.  So you are best off having all the information before you start.  If you find that you are only missing one or two small pieces of information, feel free to submit the  survey and simply email us the additional information.

Thank you!

Why do we want to publish your mailing address?
The Secular Student Alliance prides itself on publishing an up-to-date directory of all of its affiliates. This is a simple way to make secularism look as normal and credible as it really is. The simple act of publishing physical mailing addresses for our affiliates makes them, and the whole movement, more visible and credible. We understand that some groups are not issued an address by their school and that leaders are sometimes reluctant to have their home address published. That is why this field is optional. However, we strongly encourage you to provide a public mailing address to increase the credibility of the movement. We have been publishing this information since 2001 and have yet to hear of a single group leader having a problem with their address being associated with their group.

We occasionally need to send postal mail (e.g. grant checks, custom business cards, tabling supplies)
