A warm welcome to our new members from the Secular Coalition for America, from the volunteers and staff of the Secular Student Alliance!

Due to your willingness to share your email addresses with the founding member organizations of the Secular Coalition for America (SCA), we are proud to add you as subscribers to the Secular Student Alliance eNews.  The Secular Student Alliance (SSA) is an educational non-profit organization that assists atheist, agnostic, humanist, and secular high school as well as college students in establishing campus groups dedicated to freethought, human based ethics, and secular activism.  Currently, the SSA has 80 affiliate groups in eight countries across the globe.  We offer our affiliates travel grants to conferences, project grants to help them in their activist pursuits, an impressive speakers bureau, full-time staff support, and more.  It is our mission to ensure the future of secular activism by engaging our youth, and to give freethinking and skeptical students an alternative to the plethora of religious organizations that pervade our educational institutions.      

The Secular Student Alliance is one of the original founding organizations of the Secular Coalition for America.  We believe in the mission of SCA and work with the Secular Coalition to reach like-minded students.  SSA has arranged for lobbyist Lori Lipman Brown to speak at affiliated campuses about her work on Capitol Hill and the progress as well as the hardships faced by SCA.  SSA is helping to advertise an SCA internship to our students, we have also aired podcasts (online radio shows) illuminating the work of lobbyist Lori Lipman Brown, and informing our students how they can accompany Lori on her trips to lobby representatives in Washington.  We have worked to educate students about the positive influence of SCA, and to encourage students to subscribe to the SCA action alerts to precipitate positive change.  This aims to simultaneously inform our future generation, as well as inject youth into the Secular Coalition for America. 

As supporters and members of the Secular Coalition for America, we hope that you too will endow the Secular Student Alliance with your contributions.  The SSA exists only with the support of our donors, and we are unique in that each additional school we add as an affiliate depletes rather than increases financial resources.  As the SSA continues to grow, we ask that you support our endeavor of bringing young freethinking students into secular activism.  The future of our cause lies with posterity, and without an educated class of secular activists, our desire for a government that truly separates politics from religion is unobtainable.  Please become a voting member of the Secular Student Alliance.
