While much of your time will be spent attending conference events, you should get out and explore the city!  Here is a brief guide to Boston:

  • The Swan Boats will have just opened!  Adult fare is $2.75.
  • Check out the Franklin Park Zoo .  Adult admission is $9.50.
  • Tour the Emerald Necklace – this is an Olmstead park that connects six of Boston’s parks via bike and walking trail.  Think about renting a bike for a couple hours!
  • Get some exercise on the famous Freedom Trail.
  • Bounce around Harvard Square – it’s a funky little area (OK, so there is a GAP there…) right by the college.
  • Boston’s public transportation is one of the best around.  Check out the "T" and bus directories.

Take a break from all your activism to get some fresh Bean Town air and to get a feel for one of the oldest and most beautiful cities around.
