Ideas for 2008 conference

Now that our 2007 conference is over, it's time to start working on 2008.

We've heard a call for even training on specific skills and this is something we're quite enthusiastic about--at least at first blush.  What do you think?

Do you have suggestions for locations or times of the year?

What else should do to get lots of students from around the country to get educated, enlisted, networked and inspired?

To my knowledge, there has never been a West Coast SSA Conference. For those of us who live in the leftmost portion of the US, it would be great to have one in this part of the country.

Also, there is no way to reach the entire secular base with conferences continually held in the middle of the school year. I consider myself a devoted freethinker, yet going to conferences in April would surely hurt my grades. A conference in the middle of June would be best, in my opinion.

We discussed the timing of the last conference and have addressed that a conference in April is not necessarily the best time for students to meet. Especially since it is towards the end of the semester, you may get great ideas and have to wait to implement them or if the leadership will be changing hands, the new leaders may not have been there to attend any activist training. We are taking things like that into consideration in planning for our next conference.
