The centrality of large events

Public events tend to be at the core of what most student groups do. I wonder if there are other events that we should be thinking about more.

But I'm not sure what they are at the moment.

Off campus activism that allows group members to bond together. Like going out and protesting some fundamentalist group and then going out for pizza after.

You build a tight-knit community that way, and when things go amiss, you don't have to worry as much about group members dropping out. The stronger the bond, the more likely people are going to want to stay involved.

i was listening to a podcast a week ago... the archived Jo Ann Mooney - Making Your Events the Talk of Your Campus! and she mentioned a plan/list for organizing and keeping within budget for large events. I was wondering if that was anywhere on this site? If anyone could help me out, it would be greatly appreciated :)

thanks,
