Freedom From Religion Foundation is pleased to announce the winners of its 2007 essay competition for college-bound high school seniors. Seniors were asked to write on the topic, "Why I Do Not Need Religion To Be Moral."

There are few venues that publish poetry, fiction and creative nonfiction by atheists, humanists and freethinkers. In an effort to remedy this situation, writer-editors Marilyn Westfall and Michael Jones have paired together to start a new ezine, the Eloquent Atheist.

It's not often that I find wisdom at Jimmy John's. Tasty sandwiches, sure, but not usually wisdom. Today at Jimmy John's I was reading a sign on the wall while waiting for my lunch.
