Goodbye, Kurt

We are told that Kurt Vonnegut died yesterday. So it goes.

Mr. Vonnegut meant a lot to many of us at the Secular Student Alliance. He was the honorary president of the American Humanist Association. He was very skeptical of religion. His writing suggested how to meet the absurdities and cruelties of life with humor, humility and compassion.

We're going to miss you, Kurt.

The Post and Courier (of Charleston, South Carolina) ran a piece titled "Scary idea: Ghost seekers, skeptics explore creepy jail" on 4/4/07 about a joint trip of the College of Charleston's Atheist-Humanist Alliance and some local ghost hunters to a near-by abandoned prison to hunt for spooks.
