Lori earned her Bachelors degree in sociology from Pacific Lutheran University (2010) and Masters in sociology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (2012) where she is currently finishing her Ph.D. Lori studies religious deconversion, the lived experience of irreligion, deviant heroism, and the construction and performance of secular morality. Additionally, Lori's expertise in religion/irreligion, culture, and social movements allows Lori to consult on a variety of secular issues, such as secular group dynamics, policy reform, and social justice campaigns. Upon moving to Vegas from Seattle, she found her family and voice in the secular community and was a founding member of the UNLV SSA and Las Vegas Atheists.  Lori has presented her research at various academic conferences and in front of many groups such as the SSA,  Las Vegas Atheist meet-up community, and HALV - the Humanists and Atheists of Las Vegas. When Lori isn’t researching, teaching, or speaking about secular issues, she enjoys cooking, sleeping, sleeping, sleeping, and karaoke.
