Use a "phpBB" forum format

Submitted by JOHN on Wed, 2008-05-28 17:40.

The forum format that SSA is using is somewhat archaic ... our student organization runs a private forum using a "phpBB" format (it automates HTML tags -- including photos -- with user friendly toolbar) ... here's our site:

http://free2think.org/forum/

Suggest that SSA upgrade to this format.

Outdated webpage

Submitted by Skylar on Sun, 2008-04-20 05:47.

Here's an outdated webpage for you:

I submitted the travel grant application for the Conference, and the conference information on the confirmation page is for the Harvard Conference!

"Be sure to check out the official web page of the conference and to register. Remember SSA student members get the low registration cost of $29 for the activist training and the main conference (including two receptions and three meals). Students who are not members of the SSA pay $50. SSA student membership is only $10/year. Being a member of an SSA affiliate does not automatically qualify you for the lower rate. You must be a student member of the SSA itself. Save yourself some money and join the SSA today.

Membership renewal

Submitted by Skylar on Sun, 2008-04-20 05:13.

I went to go register for the national conference when I realized that my membership must have expired by now. Any possibility of an automated membership renewal email in the future?

Props

Site is looking good; I see you are using drupal too! One thing I'd strongly, strongly prefer, though, is if you migrated the mailing lists off of yahoo groups. I can't stand the yahoo ads anymore, and I suspect they sell their database of users (despite claiming not to).

I'd really prefer something like mailman, but if someone assures me yahoo groups have gotten better about spam, I'll give them another try.
